THE EMBER COLLECTION

The Ember collection explores how craft, joinery logic, and restraint can create quality and character within the realities of a self started workshop. Centred around the Ember lounge chair, the collection combines solid timber construction, visible joinery, and natural materials to produce pieces designed to develop character through age and use

Japanese joinery principles are used to expose and celebrate the complexity, precision, and skill involved in making by hand, allowing the joints to become defining visual elements within the collection. Contrasting timber species are used to highlight these joints and create warmth and depth across the pieces, while leather elements were selected for the way they age and acquire character over time

Developed through sketching, prototyping, CAD modelling, and full scale making, the project reflects a process grounded in direct engagement with tools and material. The outcome is a quiet but confident collection that values honesty and lasting presence that truly honours the craftsmanship in Japanese joinery
